This week students learned how to communicate with body language! This include improvised dancing, puppetry, improv games, and sketch comedy. One game involved students taking turns walking through a "park" and responding to other students as they entered as chosen characters. Together, the players developed a story. First day of Yes And! 2020!
We had a great start to our Yes And! Improv & Sketch course! With any improv, we always want to tell a story. So our first project was to learn the parts of a story and collaborate on ideas together for a complete story! We all got in small groups and brainstormed together. Lots of characters and plots were discussed. What problems or conflicts would our characters have to overcome? Was it a comedic story? (Many were!) Was it a dramatic story?
