This week during Yes, And! we gained more skills in interpretation and characterization, vivid storytelling, and vocal expression. In improv, being specific with your character expression is essential to creating a memorable and entertaining character. We explored how our voice can tell the audience who we are. A withered crackling voice tells us this person is older or tired. That combined with body language immediately tells us who the character is before the scene develops. Vocal expression is particularly crucial in puppetry, especially when portraying an animal! Our students did so well with their voice expression and character choices -- they are truly becoming excellent storytellers and improv players!
